The End is Near

Just of the year!! I am just amazed at how fast this year seemed to have gone by. It was a pretty good year overall. A lot of projects were done. A lot of trips were taken. And lots of fun was had.

I lost nearly 45 pounds and I feel so much better. Another 45ish and I will be at my goal weight. I found my exercise love in yoga. I feel so much more connected to my life and body.

I now share my craft room and it is the “office” Can you tell what side is mine?

I have more stuff to put away but I think the space is now well condensed.

I feel well accomplished for the year. Lots of crochet, crafts and recreation. I hope you all also have done some awesome things! Here’s to a new year!

I spent six or so hours organizing my uarn closet. I am pleased. I also do not need anymore yarn. Want is another story.

I also made room for my husband’s desk. It only took a year. I am saddened that I have been reduced to half my space. I didn’t take a pic of that. I might when I get situated.

This week was gingerbread house making at school. My little guy thoroughly enjoyed it.

We also made sugar cookies at my MIL’s…not so successful but lots of fun.

My oldest, proud of his little tree.

My little guy, double fisting the frosting.

He is a hoot. The other day he was carrying on and I told him Santa wasn’t going to stop at our houseg and leave him presents. He said he didn’t care, he was still getting presents from mama. The same day he decided to trim the tree because the branches were poking him.

So something fun happened at my friend’s coffee shop. He ordered in some expensive coffee…kopi luwak, aka civet cat poop coffee. It is supposed to be good. I did think it tasted better than a lot of store bought coffee. I don’t think I will pay that for coffee again. We bought some to gift and I made some funny mugs.

I have so much more to share bug it is after 1 a.m. and I should get to bed.

More holiday craft shenanigans later rhis week. I hope you all are plowing through your list of to-dos!

Stash Amassed Beyond Life Expectancy (for those non-crafters)

Maybe, maybe, I am projecting a little bit…I mean, I will only be 37 next month so there’s more time that I could A) stashbust B) never buy yarn again C) find another hobby…bwahahhaaaa…or none of the above.

I’m on my annual craftroom clean-up mission with the idea that my husband is going to finally move into the room and it will be designated the shared “office” space. We even discussed how we would arrange our desk and table so we could work together if we wanted. He was also so generous to offer that I could use his desk if I wanted but I told him that would never work. I need my space to be craft-ready.

Thinking about all the yarn I have made me realize I need a better way to store my stash. I have over-floweth from the closet.

In my defense, I didn’t buy it all. I had some wonderful enablers. And there was even several skeins from those stashes that I was able to use without buying more yarn. I decided to buy a storage drawer thing.

I filled it up before I even got to the closet. I need another bin. Thankfully, these are only $18 at Wal-Mart. I am going to stack them in the closet. Out of sight, out of hubby’s mind. My little one came into the room as I was organizing and exclaimed, (I think with wonder) “I’ve never been in this closet.” Then he proceeded to help me untangle and wind stray yarn. He is such a great helper.

I thought I might have the majority of the room cleaned up however I have only been through a quarter of it. I threw away lots of random shopping bags that held various yarns and other craft supplies. Found lots of cabled knitting needles that I need to find a way to store. They are vintage Hero needles that are nylon. I love how they are seemless and have a nice grip and glide while stitching. I do wish the points were more defined but these needles are super old!

While also thinking of my stash, I had an idea. Weaving has caught my attention. There are these cute kiddie kits that I would love to buy. Melissa and Doug has a good size one ghat i could make placemats or a sizeable wall hanging, maybe a mini rug. Then I stop myself because when am I going to have time to weave! So many hobbies to try, so little time.

I think I am going to hit Pinterest up for some craft room storage ideas. I don’t want my hubs to think I have too much, hee hee. Has anyone seen any great ideas and want to share?
