The Rise and Fall of the Brownies

I should have known by the look of the brownies while in the oven something had gone awry. Brownies don’t rise like a cake.  They were gloriously moist and dark chocolately  goodlooking. Looks can be deceiving. I cut a lovely brownie piece and ugh!!!! Salty baking soda!! Ruined!!!

Apparently, the recipe calls for a teaspoon and a half of baking soda. Not a TABLEspoon and a half. This is what happens when reading a recipe off the tiny screen of a phone and not printed out. I had made some lovely cream cheese icing and that was delish but not so much to overcompensate for saltiness. I broke down and bought some mixes.

I had a one year celebration party for my pure romance business. And it was a bust. The best thing about it was my bestie was the only one here and we had three glorious hours of us time. No kids. Slight texting interruptions from the males in our lives but that was funny. But just some needed tak time instead of quick stolen moments at the grocery store or while driving when children are napping. We used to have so much time just us. And now our lives are filled with our children and families. It’s amazing how lives shift.

As far as crafting goes, I’ve made some shells for minion hats for a friend’s grandchildren for christmas. Had some other side projects to do for decals. Other than that, I’ve been trying to get some sleep instead of manically late night crafting. I haven’t been waking up refreshed yet, I do suppose it will take more than a week. Who knows. I think I’m just not a morning person.

I can’t be the only one, can I? There’s other late night mad crafter, too??
